1. Our commitment

Bingo Pé Quente was designed from day one to be used by all ages and profiles, with special attention to the 50+ audience and people with visual, hearing or motor disabilities. We believe bingo is a social activity that brings generations together — and technology should remove barriers, not create new ones.

This statement describes, objectively, the accessibility practices adopted in the app and on the website, and the normative basis that guides our design decisions.

2. Normative basis

  • Brazilian Law 13.146/2015 — Brazilian Inclusion of People with Disabilities Act (LBI), notably art. 63 (accessibility on websites and apps).
  • Decree 5.296/2004 — regulates accessibility for people with disabilities and reduced mobility.
  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 — international W3C guidelines at AA level, adopted as the technical reference by the Brazilian Federal Government (eMAG) and by most accessibility authorities worldwide.
  • Brazilian Law 10.741/2003 — Statute of the Older Adult (notably arts. 3, 8 and 10), regarding priority service and protection in consumer relationships.

3. Mobile app features

The app was built to reduce friction for users with low vision, hearing loss, hand tremor, and the mild cognitive limitations common with aging.

High-Contrast Theme

Black and white with yellow accents. Removes visual barriers for people with cataracts, glaucoma or low acuity.

Large numbers and easy tapping

The card cells and main buttons honor a minimum touch target of 44×44 px (WCAG 2.1 SC 2.5.5). Numbers are shown extra large and don't break even when you increase your phone's system font.

Human voice + Repeat button

Each number is announced with a clear pre-recorded voice. The Repeat button replays the last number at any time, helping users with hearing difficulties.

Voice input on the keypad

On the app's number keypad, users can speak the number instead of typing — useful for those who struggle with small keyboards.

Expanded tap area (HitSlop)

The touch-sensitive area is larger than the visible icon, compensating for fine motor limitations without altering the layout.

TalkBack / VoiceOver

Every card cell has an accessibility label, allowing screen readers on Android and iOS to read content aloud.

4. Website features

  • “Skip to main content” link at the top of every page (keyboard access, WCAG 2.4.1).
  • Minimum contrast of 4.5:1 for text and 3:1 for components (WCAG 1.4.3 and 1.4.11).
  • Accessible labels on buttons and links (aria-label and descriptive text).
  • Images with alt text when they carry information.
  • Semantic structure (h1 → h2 → h3) and landmark markup (main, nav, section).
  • Compatible with screen readers and keyboard navigation.
  • Dark theme available to reduce eye strain.

5. Consumer protection for the 50+ audience

Statute of the Older Adult (Brazilian Law 10.741/2003)

We recognize that the 50+ audience has reinforced legal protection in consumer relationships. That's why we adopt practices that go beyond the minimum required by the Brazilian Consumer Code:

  • Explicit one-time-purchase notice (no automatic renewal) on the pricing pages, before purchase.
  • Cancellation in a few steps through Google Play (no retention, no mandatory phone call, no fine print).
  • 7-day right of withdrawal (Brazilian Consumer Code art. 49) highlighted at every checkout.
  • The app is fully functional on the free plan — a paid product is never required to play.
  • No accidental charges: paid purchases are only activated after confirmation in Google Play itself.

8. Conformance statement

Bingo Pé Quente declares substantial conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. The word “substantial” is used rigorously: it means most criteria are met, but some accessory features may occasionally need adjustments. This statement is reviewed at every major release of the app.
